Three placements are scheduled during the two-year programme:
Year 1
6 weeks as a salesperson in a B to C environment (in shops, retailers, small, medium-sized or large companies). The aim is to allow students to come into direct contact with customers and to be exposed, on a daily basis, to the different challenges of sales.
3 months in an international company, preferably in industry.
Students may be asked to sell, to translate documents/website contents, to participate in marketing assignments, to canvass for the company, to do telesales and so on.The goal is to make it possible for students to evolve in a foreign culture whilst discovering new working methods and a whole new way of life. The linguistic aspect is also very important in so far as students must use their foreign language skills daily.
What’s better than real-life, hands-on experience?
Year 2
A company project, for a few hours per week over a six-month period (from September to March), offers the students the opportunity to put into practise all the techniques learnt throughout the year at DBS. Small groups of around 3 - 4 students work on the international development of a small to medium-sized local company (they intervene on the preparation of export activities, on the launching of a product abroad, they find new markets on other continents…).
What can be more exciting, as part of your professional training, to work on a project that has a concrete impact on a company? Be proud of helping a firm export its image and products.
A 4 to 6 month work placement abroad will give you another opportunity to expand your knowledge doing the job you dream of. Become a Sales Engineer, a Product Manager, an Export Engineer…
